The Harold True Charitable Trust is a Philanthropic charity set up by a late local gentleman Mr. Harold True.
Mr True left a very generous bequest to provide accommodation in DOB for deserving local members of the community in need of housing help or support. This generosity enabled the provision of a two bedroom bungalow to be available at very low subsidised rent, and also to cover the cost of heating and all maintenance of the property.
It is a non-profit making charity run by a Committee of local residents. To continually monitor the well being of and indeed the occupant, currently a lady who has lived there for about five years.
The balance of the bequest is kept as savings and investments to ensure the financial security of the Trust.
All Accounts are Audited and provided to the Charities Commission and a copy is lodged with the Parish Council who always has a sponsored representative on the Committee
When occupancy changes are necessary for whatever reason applicants are invited from members of the community who feel they or someone they know meet the criteria for this wonderful village facility.
